RESOLUTION NO. R-2002-268
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO AMEND THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S STATE
HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP (SHIP) PROGRAM
BUDGETS OF ESTIMATED REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES
BYAMENDING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR STATE FISCAL YEAR
2001/2002 TO REFLECT AN ADDITIONAL ALLOCATION OF
$28,469.00 IN EXCESS FUNDS COLLECTED IN STATE FY
2000/2001 AND UTILIZED ACCORDING TO THE CITY OF
TAMARAC'S LOCAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AND
HOUSING DELIVERY GOALS CHART IN THE ANNUAL
REPORT FOR STATE FY 2001/2002; AND AMENDING THE
ESTIMATED AMOUNT FOR THE CURRENT STATE FISCAL
YEAR 2002/2003 BY $81,343,00 TO REFLECT THE AMOUNT
OF $531,865.00 (BASED UPON THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S
04/01/2002 CENSUS) AND TO BE UTILIZED ACCORDING TO
THE CITY OF TAMARAC'S LOCAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE
PLAN AND HOUSING DELIVERY GOALS CHART FOR STATE
FY2002/2003; APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS INCLUDING ANY
AND ALL SUBSEQUENT BUDGETARY TRANSFERS (CASE
NO. 13-MI-02); PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the State's Florida Housing Finance Corporation, administrators of the State
Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, notified the City of Tamarac at the end of State
Fiscal Year 2001/2002 of an allocation of excess funds collected in State Fiscal Year 2000/2001
in the amount of $28,469.00 to be utilized in the State Fiscal Year 2001/2002 (attached hereto
as Exhibit "A"); and
WHEREAS, allocations received for the SHIP Program were utilized according to the
City's adopted Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart included in the
Annual Report (attached hereto as Exhibit "B"); and

WHEREAS, the State of Florida notified the City of Tamarac that the estimated funding
amount for the current State Fiscal Year 2002/2003 was increased to $531,865.00 based upon
the April 1, 2002 Census estimate (attached hereto as Exhibit "C"); and
WHEREAS, based on this new estimated amount the Local Housing Assistance Plan
and Housing Delivery Goals Chart is proposed to be amended as attached (Exhibit "D"); and
WHEREAS, according to this Plan, ten (10%) percent of both budgets is to be set aside
for administration and the remainder is to be used for eligible program activities; and
WHEREAS, budgetary adjustments over $10,000.00 per event must be approved by the
City Commission for each budgetary adjustment; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the
best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to authorize the appropriate
City Officials to amend the State of Florida's State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP)
Program budgets of estimated revenues and expenditures by amending the final budget for
State Fiscal Year 2001-2002 to reflect an additional allocation of $28,469.00 in excess funds
collected in State FY 2000/2001 and utilized according to the City of Tamarac's Local Housing
Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart in the Annual Report for State FY
2001/2002; and amending the estimated amount for the current State Fiscal Year 2002/2003 by
$81,343.00 to reflect the amount of $531,865.00 (based upon the State of Florida's 04/01/2002
Census) to be utilized according to the City of Tamarac's Local Housing Assistance Plan and
Housing Delivery Goals Chart for State FY 2002/2003; appropriating said funds including any
and all subsequent budgetary transfers.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the City Commission authorizes the appropriate City Offcials
to accept the allocation of excess funds in the amount of $28,469.00 for the City of Tamarac's
State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program for the State of Florida State Fiscal Year
2001 /2002 and the additional estimated allocation of $81,343.00 for State Fiscal Year
2002/2003 and to amend each respective budget to reflect the additional amount to be used
according to the City of Tamarac's Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals
Chart.
SECTION 3: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to
appropriate said funds, including any and all subsequent budgetary transfers to be in
accordance with proper accounting standards.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
