R-2002-274 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ONE REGULAR MEMBER TO THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD TO FILL AN UNEXPIRED ONE-YEAR TERM ENDING JUNE 26, 2003; APPOINTING ONE ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD TO FILL AN UNEXPIRED ONE-YEAR TERM ENDING JUNE 26, 2003; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing one (1) regular member to the Insurance Advisory Board to fill an unexpired one-year term ending June 26, 2003; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-136 and 2-137 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members of the Insurance Advisory Board shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms; and WHEREAS, the Risk/Safety Manager and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one (1) regular member to the Insurance Advisory Board to fill an unexpired one-year term ending June 26, 2003. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, Temp. Reso. #9879 August 26, 2002 Page 2 SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 2-137 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is hereby appointed as a regular member of the Insurance Advisory Board to fill an unexpired one-year term ending June 26, 2003 or until such time as reappointments are made: Seymour A. Bauer (previously alternate member) SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 2-137 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is hereby appointed as an alternate member of the Insurance Advisory Board to fill an unexpired one-year term ending June 26, 2003 or until such time as reappointments are made: Merlie Winnick Swartz SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 1 1 Temp.
