CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2002-275
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING TWO MEMBERS TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD TO FILL UNEXPIRED
ONE-YEAR TERMS ENDING JUNE 26, 2003; APPOINTING A
CHAIRPERSON TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
TO FILL AN UNEXPIRED TERM ENDING JUNE 26, 2003;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the resignations of Susan McCampbell and Brian Beaton have created
vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Board, and additionally, Mr. Beaton served as
Chairperson to the Board; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing two (2) members to the
Parks and Recreation Board to fill unexpired one-year terms ending June 26, 2003; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 15-41 and 15-43 of the Tamarac Code
(attached hereto as Exhibit A) the Parks and Recreation Board shall consist of seven (7)
members who shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code, the City
Commission shall appoint a Chairperson for the Parks and Recreation Board; and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director and City Manager recommend approval;

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint two (2) members,
and a Chairperson to the Parks and Recreation Board to fill unexpired one-year terms ending
June 26, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 15-41 of the Tamarac Code, the following
persons are hereby appointed as members of the Parks and Recreation Board to fill unexpired
one-year terms ending June 26, 2003 or until such time as reappointments are made:
Joseph LaPlaca Walter Siegel
SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code, the following person
is appointed as Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation Board:
Jerome Ginsberg
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by
any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 25th day of September, 2002.
