CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2002- 35Z
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE PART 150
NOISE STUDY UPDATE RECOMMENDATIONS
FOR THE FORT LAUDERDALE EXECUTIVE
AIRPORT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
TRANSMIT COPIES OF THE RESOLUTION
(CASE NO. 21-MI-02); PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, located in Fort Lauderdale,
serves as a general aviation reliever facility for Fort Lauderdale -Hollywood International
Airport; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport lies in close proximity to portions
of eastern Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport Aviation Advisory Board meeting
includes representation from the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the first Part 150 Study for Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was
completed in 1986; and
WHEREAS, a Noise Study update was completed in 1996 and approved by the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Part 150 Noise Study update has been conducted in order to further
assess noise abatement, land use and continuing program measures to minimize noise

impacts from aircraft utilizing the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval of this
request; and
WHEREAS, based upon presentations and background information provided by
staff associated with the Part 150 Noise Study update recommendations (attached hereto
as Exhibit 1"), the City Commission of the City of Tamarac has determined that the
associated recommendations will assist in reducing noise impacts over residential areas;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to express support of
the Part 150 Noise Study update recommendations for the Fort Lauderdale Executive
Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.

SECTION 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac hereby
endorses the Part 150 Noise Study update recommendations as they relate to mitigating
noise impacts from aircraft utilizing the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to transmit copies of
this Resolution to the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and the City of Fort Lauderdale,
and any other interested person(s).
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution,

This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
