R2001-04 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE TO FILL UNEXPIRED TERMS ENDING JUNE 26, 2001; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing two (2) alternate members to the Public Information Committee to fill unexpired terms ending June 26, 2001; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-176 and 2-177 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) regular members of the Public Information Committee shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms and alternate members shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms; and WHEREAS, the Public Information Officer and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint two (2) alternate members to the Public Information Committee to fill unexpired terms ending June 26, 2001. 1 Temp. Reso. #9238 Page 2 December 19, 2000 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 2-177 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as alternate members of the Public Information Committee to fill unexpired terms ending June 26, 2001, or until such time as reappointments are made: Carlton L. Harris Lenore M. Langer SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 1 Temp.
