R-2001-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING NINE (9) MEMBERS TO THE MASTER PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR A LIMITED TERM TO WORK WITH THE CONSULTANT AND STAFF ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE "PARKS, OPEN SPACE, RECREATION AND SOCIAL SERVICES MASTER PLAN" PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OF A CHAIRPERSON; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-2000-315, approved on November 22, 2000, authorized the award of RFP 00-25R entitled "Parks, Open Space, Recreation and Social Services Master Plan" to the firm of Glatting, Jackson, Kercher, Anglin, Lopez and Reinhert, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the development of a comprehensive Parks, Open Space, Recreation and Social Service Master Plan is essential for the ability of the City of Tamarac to meet the growing and changing needs of the residents of Tamarac and other users; and WHEREAS, a committee consisting of active community members is needed to assist the consultant, Glatting, Jackson et al., in all aspects of the Master Plan process; and WHEREAS, the Master Plan Advisory Committee shall serve for a limited term; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director recommends appointment of members to the Master Plan Advisory Committee; and Temp. Reso. #9235 Page 2 - December 13, 2000 Rev. #1 - 12/28/00 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to make appointments to the Master Plan Advisory Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the following people are hereby appointed to the Master Plan Advisory Committee for a limited term which shall end with the completion of the Parks, Open Space, Recreation and Social Services Master Plan: Rob Cleaver, President, Tamarac Athletic Federation Alan Perlman, Vice Chairman, Tamarac Parks and Recreation Board and member of the Broward Sheriffs Office Community Council Jerry Ginsberg, Chairman, Friends of the Community Center Helen Sobel, Chair, Tamarac Board of Social Services Dorothy Murphy, President, Tamarac Presidents Council Tom Calhoun, Deputy Superintendent, Construction & Facilities Management, The School Board of Broward County Jerry Cohn, Attorney, Board Member of the White -Willis Theatre and the Tamarac Bulldogs Michael McCampbell, Member, Tamarac Planning Board Teresa Costanzo, Parent & Local Business owner 1 1 Temp. Reso. #9235 Page 3 - December 13, 2000 Rev. #1 - 12/28/00 SECTION 3: The Master Plan Advisory Committee shall elect its own Chairperson. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 10th day of January, 2001.
