CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2001-115
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
AMENDING THE SALARY FOR THE
ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, consistent with Resolution No. R-98-204, the City Attorney is the
appropriate party to make determinations regarding salary adjustments for the Assistant
City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Assistant City Attorney's salary has been reviewed and compared
with the geographic market by the City Attorney and Personnel Department; and
WHEREAS, the salary of the Assistant City Attorney is not currently competitive with
the geographic market and should be adjusted to be competitive in the community
marketplace and to ensure internal equity with other comparable City positions; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide internal and external equity to the position of
Assistant City Attorney a salary adjustment is necessary; and
WHEREAS, there are funds available in the City Attorney's FY 2001 budget to cover
the costs associated with this adjustment; and

WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends the City Commission's granting of a
salary adjustment for the Assistant City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The salary for the Assistant City Attorney effective May 5, 2001 shall
be $65,000 per annum.
SECTION 3: All necessary budget transfers are hereby approved.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
