R-2001-124 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING HUBERT S. KLOMBERS AS LEGISLATIVE AIDE TO VICE MAYOR MARC L. SULTANOF; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chapter 2 "Administration", Article II "City Commission", Section 2- 32 "Legislative Aides" of the City Code of the City of Tamarac allows any commissioner to appoint a maximum of three (3) legislative aides "to assist in compiling background information on subjects that legitimately are, or could be, of concern to the city commission"; and WHEREAS, the legislative aides shall be residents of the city, shall serve without monetary remuneration, and shall serve at the pleasure of the nominating commissioner upon approval of the majority of the commission with a term expiring the following March 10; and WHEREAS, the legislative aides may not hold elected office or be a city employee, or be appointed as legislative aide to more than one commissioner; and WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Marc L. Sultanof has requested that Hubert S. Klombers be appointed as one of his legislative aides; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint Hubert S. Klombers as legislative aide to Vice Mayor Marc L. Sultanof. Temp. Reso # 9399 - May 14, 2001 Page 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: Hubert S. Klombers is hereby appointed as a legislative aide to Vice Mayor Marc L. Sultanof, with a term expiring March 10, 2002. Section 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this Resolution.
