CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2001-150
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SINCERE
APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE TO THE NATIONAL
SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION FOR SELECTING BROWARD
COUNTY AS HOST SITE FOR ITS 2001 ANNUAL
CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION; WELCOMING
ATTENDEES, THEIR GUESTS AND THEIR FAMILIES;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the National Sheriffs' Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated
to raising the level of professionalism among those in the criminal justice field; and
WHEREAS, the National Sheriffs' Association is now in its sixtieth year of serving
the law enforcement and criminal justice professionals of the nation; and
WHEREAS, the National Sheriffs' Association has been involved in numerous
programs to enable sheriffs, their deputies, chiefs of police, and others in the field of
criminal justice to perform their jobs in the best possible manner and to better serve the
people of their communities; and
WHEREAS, the National Sheriffs' Association's reputation for integrity and
dependability is nationally recognized; and

WHEREAS, the National Sheriffs' Association has selected Broward County, Florida
as the host site for its 2001 Annual Conference and Exhibition to be held June 23 - 27,
2001; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to support the National
Sheriffs' Association and express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the National
Sheriffs' Association for selecting Broward County, Florida as host site for its 2001 annual
Conference and Exhibition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac expresses its sincere
appreciation and gratitude to the National Sheriffs' Association for selecting Broward
County, Florida as host site for its 2001 Annual Conference and Exhibition.
SECTION 3: That the City of Tamarac does hereby officially welcome attendees,
their guests and their families to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the National Sheriffs'
Association's 2001 Annual Conference and Exhibition.

SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
