R2001-24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING A CITY COMMISSIONER TO REPRESENT DISTRICT 2 UNTIL THE COMMISSIONER CHOSEN IN THE MARCH 2O02 ELECTION IS SWORN INTO OFFICE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 4.05(c) OF THE TAMARAC CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac is desirous of appointing a City Commissioner to represent District 2 to serve until the March 2002 general election when a new Commissioner is sworn in, in accordance with Section 4.05(c) of the Tamarac Charter (a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A"); and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint a City Commissioner to represent District 2 to serve until the March 2002 general election when a new Commissioner is sworn in, in accordance with Section 4.05(c) of the Tamarac Charter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Temp. Reso. #9263 Page 2 January 29, 2001 Revision #1, February 1, 2001 SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 4.05(c) of the Tamarac Charter GERTRUDE R. MISHKIN is hereby appointed as City Commissioner to represent District 2 until the Commissioner chosen in the March 2002 election is sworn into office. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are ! hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 0 Temp.
