R-2001-261 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF ESTIMATED REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES OF THE GENERAL FUND AND THE CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission on the 28th day of September 2000 adopted Ordinance No. 0-2000-30 approving the annual budget for fiscal year 2001; and WHEREAS, having completed eleven months of the present fiscal year, the City Manager has identified areas within City operations requiring immediate action; and WHEREAS, funds currently budgeted in the General Fund for the Street Improvement Project need to be transferred to the recently established Street Improvement Fund to allow for the proper credit of interest earnings to the project and to allow for easier tracking; and WHEREAS, an Interfund transfer from the General Fund account entitled "Transfer to General Capital Fund" to the General Capital Fund account entitled "Construction" is needed for correct accounting purposes to cover expenses Temp. Reso. #9478 Page 2 08/03/01 Revision #1 09/12/01 Revision #2 09/13/01 Revision #3 09/17/01 Revision #4 09/19/01 incurred as change orders and equipment for the Tamarac Community Center construction project, and to complete and close out the construction project; and WHEREAS, loans made to the General Capital Fund from the Insurance Services Fund and the Drainage Retention Fund for the acquisition of the McNab Road Property need to be reimbursed by subsequently acquired Grant Funds, as well as refunding contributions from the Parks Improvement Fund; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined, through an assessment of available resources and current obligations of the City, that sufficient funds exist to carry out these immediate actions; and WHEREAS, these adjustments to the FY 01 Budget require the amending of estimated revenues and expenditures found within the FY01 annual budget; and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and City Manager recommend adjustments to the present FY2001 budget based on the aforementioned assessment; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to amend the FY 01 Budget to address those operational areas requiring immediate action. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: Temp. Reso. #9478 Page 3 08/03/01 Revision #1 09/12/01 Revision #2 09/13/01 Revision #3 09/17/01 Revision #4 09/19/01 SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: The budget of the City of Tamarac is hereby amended, as follows, as adopted by the City Commission: GENERALFUND Public Works Department Construction — Streets ($1,970,633) (Transfer to General Streets Improvement Fund) Parks and Recreation Various Accounts (27,000) (Transfer to General Capital Fund) GENERAL STREETS IMPROVEMENT FUND Public Works Department Construction — Streets 1,970,633 (Transfer from General Fund) GENERAL CAPITAL FUND Community Center Construction $ 27,000 Construction Project (Transfer from General Fund) Risk Management Transfer to Insurance Fund 55,000 (Repayment of Loan) Public Works Department Transfer to Drainage Fund 180,000 (Repayment of Loan) Non Departmental Transfer to Parks & Recreation 22,780 Improvement Fund SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this 26th day of September, 2001.
