CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2001-272
�A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO APPROVE THE ADOPTION OF
THE COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD AND
UNIVERSITY DRIVE CORRIDOR STUDY;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida, pursuant to the Local Government
Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act of 1985 and in
accordance with all its terms and provisions, has prepared and adopted a comprehensive
plan which has been submitted to and reviewed by the South Florida Regional Planning
Council (SFRPC) and the Florida State Department of Community Affairs (DCA); and
WHEREAS, Policy 1.6 of the Future Land Use Element of the City's Comprehensive
Plan states that the City will continue to promote "quality development" through
establishment of design criteria and development standards which promote the highest
standards of urban development and community aesthetics; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac desires to create higher quality of development
standards to preserve the existing businesses located in the area and attract new
businesses to the area; and
WHEREAS, Commercial Boulevard and University Drive are two (2) major
Transportation Corridors within the City of Tamarac; and

WHEREAS, the Iler Planning Group, Inc. (formerly known as HBI Planning Services,
Inc.) has prepared a Transportation Corridor Plan for Commercial Boulevard and University
Drive (attached hereto as Exhibit "A" entitled, "Commercial Boulevard and University Drive
Corridor Study"); and
WHEREAS, on September 24, 2001, the City of Tamarac Planning Board reviewed
the Commercial Boulevard and University Drive Corridor Study (Exhibit "A") and
recommended approval; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
adoption of the Commercial Boulevard and University Drive Corridor Study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
SECTION 2: That the City Commission hereby approve the adoption -of -the -4
Commercial Boulevard and University Drive Corridor Study.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or

application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this 26th day of September, 2001.
