R2001-310 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, WAIVING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 2-56 OF THE TAMARAC CODE OF ORDINANCES, ALLOWING MERLIE WINNICK-SCHWARTZ TO CONTINUE TO SERVE AS AN ALTERNATE MEMBER OF THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD FOR A ONE-YEAR TERM EXPIRING JUNE 27, 2002; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of waiving the residency requirements of Section 2-56 of the Tamarac Code of Ordinances for Merlie Winnick-Schwartz; and WHEREAS, Merlie Winnick-Schwartz was reappointed to serve as an alternate member to the Insurance Advisory Board on June 27, 2001, (a copy of Resolution No. R2001-171 is attached as Exhibit "A"); and WHEREAS, Merlie Winnick-Schwartz has since moved from the City of Tamarac and now resides in Coral Springs; and WHEREAS, Merlie Winnick-Schwartz has served as a volunteer for the City of Tamarac since 1999 and desires to continue service as a volunteer for the City of Tamarac; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and Interim Risk and Safety Officer recommend approval; and 1 Temp. Reso. #9576 Page 2 October 16, 2001 Rev. #1 October 17, 2001 Rev. #2 October 18, 2001 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to waive the residency requirements of Section 2-56 of the Tamarac Code of Ordinances and allow Merlie Winnick-Schwartz to continue serving as an alternate member to the Insurance Advisory Board for a one-year term expiring June 27, 2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the City Commission hereby waives the residency requirements of Section 2-56 of the Tamarac Code of Ordinances for Merlie Winnick-Schwartz so that she may continue to serve as an alternate member of the Insurance Advisory Board for a one-year term ending June 27, 2002, SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 Temp. R2001-171 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FIVE (5) REGULAR MEMBERS TO THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD TO SERVE ONE-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING JUNE 27, 2002; APPOINTING TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD TO SERVE ONE-YEAR TERMS EXPIRING JUNE 27, 2002; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO THE INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members to the Insurance Advisory Board to serve one-year terms expiring June 27, 2002; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-136 and 2-137 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members of the Insurance Advisory Board shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms expiring June 27, 2002; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-137 of the Tamarac Code, the City Commission shall appoint a Chairperson for the Insurance Advisory Board; and WHEREAS, the Interim Risk Manager and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint 4�57� Temp.
