CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2001-359
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ONE (1) MEMBER TO THE
SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD TO COMPLETE A ONE-YEAR TERM
EXPIRING JUNE 27, 2002; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO
THE SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD TO COMPLETE A ONE-YEAR
TERM EXPIRING JUNE 27, 2002; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing one (1) member and a
chairperson to the Social Services Board to complete a one-year term expiring June 27,
2002; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 2-201 and 2-202 of the Tamarac Code
(attached hereto as Exhibit A), the Social Services Board shall consist of five (5)
members who shall be appointed by the City Commission on an annual basis; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the
Chairperson of the Board shall be appointed by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director and City Manager recommend
approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint one (1)

member and a Chairperson to the Social Services Board to complete one-year terms
expiring June 27, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That pursuant to Sections 2-101 and 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the
following person is hereby appointed as a member of the Social Services Board to complete
a one-year term expiring June 27, 2002, or until such time as reappointments are made:
Joyce Darlene Hill
SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 2-202 of the Tamarac Code, the following
person is hereby appointed to serve as Chairperson of the Social Services Board to
complete a one-year term expiring June 27, 2002, or until such time as reappointments, are
made:
Carlton Harris
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this 28th day of November, 2001.

Sep.2-201. Creation.
There is created and established a social services board which shall be a permanent agency of the city
and shall consist of five (5) members appointed by the city commission.

Sec. 2-202. Membership; compensation; chairman.
The members of the social services board shall be appointed by the city commission on an annual basis
and serve at the pleasure of the city commission without compensation. The chairman of the board shall
be appointed by the city commission.
