CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2001-366
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
PURCHASE OF E-GOVERNMENT AND HUMAN
RESOURCES SOFTWARE FROM HTE, INC., AT A
COST OF $52,750, INCLUDING TRAINING AND
INSTALLATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved the implementation of e-government
and human resources applications in the FY02 budget; and
WHEREAS, the proposed systems will enable citizens and businesses in Tamarac
to look up and pay their utility bills, apply for or renew their business licenses on-line,
twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week at their convenience; and
WHEREAS, the HTE Human Resources application complements the City's existing
payroll software providing the tools necessary to effectively manage the City's Personnel
Complement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed applications will be maintained and supported by HTE
through our annual maintenance agreement that is already in place; and
WHEREAS, annual maintenance and support fees for these applications in the
amount of $8,080 will be due in October 2002, at the same time maintenance and support
fees are due for our existing applications; and
WHEREAS, to provide consistency and integration of systems, HTE is
recommended to supply the City's e-government applications; and
WHEREAS, one vendor will support and maintain all of our applications and a single
source will ensure current and future integration with our existing municipal applications;
and

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of IT and the City's IT Advisory
Committee that the City purchase e-government and human resources applications from
HTE, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, funding for this purchase is budgeted in IT FY02 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase e-
government and human resources applications including installation and training services
from HTE at a cost of $52,750.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to purchase
e-government and human resources applications including installation and training
services from HTE at a cost of $52,750 as outlined in the price quotes attached hereto as
Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
