RESOLUTION NO R-2001-94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO AMEND THE STATE
OF FLORIDA'S STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES
PARTNERSHIP (SHIP) PROGRAM BUDGET OF ESTIMATED
REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES BY ACCEPTING A
MODIFIED ALLOCATION OF SHIP PROGRAM FUNDS IN
THE AMOUNT OF AN ADDITIONAL $1,635.00 FOR A TOTAL
ALLOCATION OF $436,145.00 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001-
2002 TO BE UTILIZED ACCORDING TO THE CITY OF
TAMARAC'S LOCAL HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AND
HOUSING DELIVERY GOALS CHART; APPROPRIATING
SAID FUNDS, INCLUDING ANY AND ALL NECESSARY
BUDGET TRANSFERS; AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO ADMINISTRATIVELY EXECUTE FUTURE
AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY'S SHIP PROGRAM BUDGET
FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000.00 PER
EVENT, AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO REFLECT
ADJUSTMENTS MADE BY THE FLORIDA HOUSING
FINANCE CORPORATION; CASE NO. 17-MI-01; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the State's Florida Housing Finance Corporation, the administrators of
the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, has recently notified the City of
Tamarac of a modification to its estimated Fiscal Year 2001-2002 annual grant allocation of
State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program funds (attached hereto as Exhibit
1"); and
WHEREAS, the City will utilize the adjusted FY 2001-02 allocation of funds

according to its Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart
(attached hereto as Exhibit "2"); and
WHEREAS, prior to and during the SHIP fiscal year, the Florida Housing Finance
Corporation makes routine adjustments to the entitlement jurisdiction's estimated annual
allocations which require the local governing body's action; and
WHEREAS, budgetary adjustments must be approved by the City Commission for
each budgetary adjustment; and
WHEREAS, approving an administrative authority for budgetary adjustments to the
SHIP Program's annual grant allocation, totaling less than $10,000.00 per event, will
maximize efficiency in the SHIP Program and accounting procedures and minimize routine
agenda item preparation; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends approval of the
modification to the SHIP Program budget and the approval for limited administrative
authority for budgetary amendments to the City's SHIP annual grant allocation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to authorize the
appropriate City Officials to amend the State of Florida's State Housing Initiatives
Partnership (SHIP) Program Budget of estimated revenues and expenditures by accepting
a modified allocation of SHIP Program funds in the amount of an additional $1,635.00 fora
total allocation of $436,145.00 for Fiscal Year 2001-2002 to be utilized according to the
City of Tamarac's Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart;
appropriating said funds, including any and all necessary budget transfers; authorizing

appropriate City Officials to administratively execute future amendments to the City's SHIP
Program Budget for an amount not to exceed $10,000.00 per event, as may be necessary
to reflect adjustments made by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to
amend the SHIP Fund Budget of estimated revenues and expenditures by accepting a
modified allocation of SHIP Program funds in the amount of an additional $1,635.00 for a
total allocation of $436,145.00 for the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 to be utilized according to the
City's Local Housing Assistance Plan and Housing Delivery Goals Chart.
SECTION 3: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to
appropriate said funds, including any and all subsequent budgetary _transfers to be in
accordance with proper accounting standards.
SECTION 4: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to
administratively execute future amendments to the SHIP Program Budget for an amount
not to exceed $10,000.00 per event as may be necessary to reflect adjustments made by
the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
