Subject: Hiatus Road underground costs
Good afternoon Azita. I have received the final cost for the option of placing initial FPL facilities
underground along Hiatus Road. Lou Millio and I have reviewed the components.
The scope of work encompasses the length of Hiatus Road between Commercial Boulevard and McNab
Road. The actual Contribution In Aid of Construction (CIAC) cost differential to rovide an
feeder, in lieu of an overhead feeder and wood poles, for which the City would ,. =Spoi
$223,639. This cost includes the differential expense to nr^vide a pad mounter tfansfonnner necessary
to provide underground service to the City's Lift Station or. : a South half of the project. Also included
are the necessary underground facility terminations at poles on each end of the project. (As an FYI,
FPL's expense of installing the underground feeder is $477,690.)
The differential cost breakdown of the separate portions of the project are:
North 1/2 $119,997
South 1/2 $103,642
Total $223,639
Lou Millio has already ordered all of the necessary materials to provide the underground facilities and has
requested our Drafting Department to prepare final construction prints. Our Contract Administration
representative has been advised of the project and is prepared to arrange the crews necessary for this
project.
I will have Lou Millio provide an invoice directly to you if you desire to have the facilities placed
underground. Payment of the CIAC must be received prior to the start of FPL construction. Additionally,
recorded easements, satisfactory to FPL, must be provided to FPL prior to the start of FPL construction
activities.
Please contact Lou Millio at 321-2048, or me at 321-2259, with your decision.
Gratefully,
