IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,800.00; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Utilities Department operates two (2) Cues, Inc. video and sealing units; and 1 WHEREAS, one (1) sanitary sewer inspection camera in one of these units needs to be replaced; and WHEREAS, Cues, Inc. is a single source manufacturer of original equipment for existing Cues video and sealing equipment, attached hereto as "Exhibit A"; and WHEREAS, staff received approval by Commission in the FY00 Budget to replace one (1) sanitary sewer inspection camera; and 1 Temp. Reso. #8794, October 7, 1999 2 Revision #1, October 28, 1999 1 1 WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Utilities Operating Fund for the purchase of the sanitary sewer inspection camera; and WHEREAS, the Director of Utilities and the Purchasing/Contracts Manager recommend the purchase of one (1) Pan & Tilt Camera from Cues, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $15,800.00; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase one (1) Pan & Tilt Camera from Cues, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution. SECTION 2: The purchase of one (1) Pan and Tilt Camera from Cues, Inc. is hereby approved. SECTION 3: Funding for this purchase will be from the appropriate Utilities Operational Account entitled "Equipment $500.00 or Greater". Temp. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. This is our 3rd generation Pan & Tilt camera and it incorporates all updates and improvements from our first two P&T's. As an option, we have also offered our new Light Sensitivity Controller. This unique controller is rackmounted (approx. 2" in height) and works with the P&T camera to provide additional light sensitivity which may be helpful in large pipes or pipes with low surface reflectivity (such as cast iron). The controller increases the camera sensitivity from the normal 3 lux to as low as .1875 lux. This capability is only functional with the Night Owl P&T camera, and the controller may be added at a later date if you choose not to purchase at this time. Because of the technical electronic engineering and patent protection of critical components of Cues equipment, many municipalities are purchasing our goods and services directly rather than through the bid process based upon a Supreme Court ruling which legalizes this procedure.
