CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-99 -�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S GRANT
APPLICATION TO BROWARD COUNTY FOR A GRANT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,181.00 WITH A MATCH
FROM THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,939.00 FOR
A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $27,120.00, FOR
THE COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM
BEGINNING JUNE 1999 PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Broward County Human Services Department, Children's
Services Administration Division has established a grant program to provide funding
for summer programs for children and their families in municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac desires to provide the
Counselor in Training Program beginning June 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has demonstrated the
ability to implement and supervise the Counselor in Training Program for teenagers
age 14 to 17; and
WHEREAS, the grant application, hereto attached as Exhibit I, requires a
match from the City in the amount of at least 12.5% of in kind contribution; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director recommends approval of this
grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to
be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
approve the grant application to Broward County Human Services Department,

Children's Services Administration Division in the amount of $23,181.00 for the
Counselor in Training Program beginning in June 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA;
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
Section 2: The City Commission hereby approves the grant application to
be submitted to Broward County Human Services Department, Children's Services
Administration Division, in the amount of $23,181.00, with a match from the City in
the amount of $3,939.00 for the Counselor in training Program to begin in June
1999.
Section 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part
or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications
of this Resolution.

Section 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
execution.
