CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO R-99- I/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
OFFICE FURNITURE FROM OFFICE PAVILLION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $13,269.36 UNDER THE DADE COUNTY
CONTRACT #1072-1/00-OTR-CW TO ACCOMMODATE THE
ADDITIONAL STAFF AND ADDRESS THE NECESSARY
CHANGES IN THE MIS OFFICE LAYOUT; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission through the budget process approved an additional
staff member for MIS Department; and
WHEREAS, after recent changes in the MIS Department layout, additional office
furniture became necessary to accommodate MIS staff; and
WHEREAS, MIS Department has purchased panels from Office Pavillion over four
years ago and they are still being used with no deformations; and
WHEREAS; by utilizing Office Pavillion products we can completely reuse the existing
panels in MIS; and
WHEREAS, the furniture being purchased will create five workstations including power
and network outlets on the panels, storage for each workstation and can be reused in other
configurations in the future if it becomes necessary; and
WHEREAS, the City Code 56-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials, and equipment, that are the subjects of other governmental contracts;
and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of MIS and the Purchasing and

Contracts Manager to purchase the necessary office furniture in the amount of $13,269.36
as shown in the design and proposal attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to purchase office furniture
from Office Pavillion under the Dade County Contract #1072-1/100-otr-cw.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to purchase office
furniture for MIS Department from Office Pavillion in the amount of $13,269.36 under Dade
County Contract #1072-1/100-otr-cw attached hereto as Exhibit B.
SECTION 3: Budget transfer in the amount of $13,269.36 from the MIS Computer
Equipment account to MIS Office Furniture account is hereby approved for correct accounting
purposes.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
