R99-99 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FOUR (4) MEMBERS TO THE REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO SECTION 6.03 OF THE TAMARAC CHARTER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 6.03 of the Tamarac Charter provides a redistricting procedure; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk, pursuant to Section 6.03 of the Tamarac Charter has timely determined in writing on March 19, 1999 that the redistricting procedure is to take place in 1999; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has considered applications for four (4) appointments to the Redistricting Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to make appointments to the Redistricting Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. 1 Temp. Reso. #8584 Page 2 March 31, 1999 SECTION 2: That the following people are hereby appointed to the Redistricting Committee for a term to expire February 22, 2000: Morton Winter from District 1 Harvey Kram from District 2 Diane Glasser from District 3 Susan McCampbell from District 4 SECTION 3: That the Redistricting Committee is directed, pursuant to the Tamarac Charter, to meet on or before May 7, 1999, to appoint the fifth member of the committee and to begin the redistricting process. SECTION 4: That the Redistricting Report, pursuant to the Tamarac Charter, shall be submitted to a joint meeting of the City Commission and Charter Board on or before September 6, 1999. SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 1 1 Temp.
