CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-98-_4_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A
REQUEST FROM THE TAMARAC CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE TO WAIVE ALL PERMIT FEES AND
OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEES FOR THEIR
CARNIVAL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Building Department has received a request from the Tamarac
Chamber of Commerce to waive all permit fees and Occupational License Fees for their
carnival (attached as Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and
requests waiver of all permit fees and Occupational License Fees; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official recommends approval of the request to waive all
permit fees and Occupational License Fees; and
WHEREAS, the request from the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce to waive all
permit fees and Occupational License Fees is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens
and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve this request for waiver of all permit fees
and Occupational License Fees,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the request for waiver of all permit fees and Occupational
License Fees, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.

Bob, as per our conversation, I am sending you the breakdown of the bees and Permits charged
by the City:
Carnival Fee (per week approximately) $525
10 concession stands at $21 $210
Company fee $ 73,50
Permits: Plumbing $ 45.55
Electrical $ 45.55
Structural $ 45.55
.+ Total $945.15
These are the charges I am responsible for and these are what 1 mistakenly thought came under
the heading of "permits" when 1. originally asked for "permit" fees to be waived.
If you can waive any or all of this I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Permits for Carnival
January 22 - January 25
Bob, I am writing to request the waiving of the permit fees necessary to tun the Carnival.
As it is our first venture with this sort of event we don't really know what kind of profit we can
expect. We are, of course, trying to keep our expenses to a bare minimum. If you can help us
with this, I would greatly appreciate it.
I have sent a copy to Judy Yacobellis who is helping us with the myriad of paperwork,
