RESOLUTION NO. R-98 - I $
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TAMARAC
AND CLEANING SYSTEMS, INC. FOR PROVISION OF
JANITORIAL SERVICES; AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO
THE ANNUAL EXPENDITURE BY AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $10,800; APPROVING A BUDGET TRANSFER OF
$10,800 DOLLARS FROM WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 25, 1998, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac,
Florida approved the award of Bid #98-08B to Cleaning Systems, Inc. for the provision of
janitorial services for City Hall, the Broward Sheriffs Office, the Water Treatment Plant, and
Fire Station #1; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement, Cleaning
Systems, Inc. agreed to provide janitorial services to additional City facilities upon thirty
(30) days written notice from the City; and
WHEREAS, based upon a Maintenance Worker I Part-time vacancy created as a
result of resignation, the City is able to extend contractual janitorial services to the Utilities
Building for an amount not to exceed $10,800; and
WHEREAS, available funds exist in the General Fund budget for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Maintenance Worker I Part-time position, vacated as a result of
resignation, will remain vacant and the Public Works Department shall recommend the

elimination of said position in the Fiscal Year 1999 Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to amend the
Agreement between the City of Tamarac and Cleaning Systems, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are HEREBY ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution
upon adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The Agreement between the City of Tamarac and Cleaning
Systems, Inc. is HEREBY modified and approved for an increase to the annual expenditure
of an amount not to exceed $10,800.
SECTION 3: That the appropriate City Officials are HEREBY authorized to
amend the Agreement with Cleaning Systems, Inc., a copy of said Agreement being hereto
attached as Exhibit "'I".
SECTION 4: That a budget transfer in the amount of $9,454 from General
Fund account entitled "Part-time Salaries," $775 from General Fund account entitled
"Benefit Option," and $571 from General Fund account entitled "FICA Taxes" to General
Fund account entitled "Custodial Services" is HEREBY approved for correct accounting
purposes.
SECTION 5: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
HEREBY repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 6: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions
or applications of this Resolution that can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable.
SECTION 7: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.

BETWEEN THE CITY OF TAMARAC
AND CLEANING SYSTEMS, INC.
FOR PROVISION OF JANITORIAL SERVICES
FOR THE UTILITIES BUILDING
The CITY OF TAMARAC and Cleaning Systems, Inc. agree to amend the original
Agreement dated March 25, 1998 as follows:
The Agreement is amended to extend contractual janitorial services to the Utilities
Building for an amount not to exceed $10,800 annually.
All other portions of the original specifications and agreement are in effect as written.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have made and executed this Amendment on the
respective dates under each signature. CITY OF TAMARAC, through its Mayor and
CLEANING SERVICES, INC. signing by and through its President, duly authorized to
execute same.
