RESOLUTION NO. R-98- a2,24
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE STATE
OF FLORIDA HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION,
STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP (SHIP)
PROGRAM GRANT OF $309,914 AND DEPOSITING SAID
FUNDS INTO THE AFFORDABLE ASSISTANCE TRUST
FUND AS DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NUMBER 0-98-7,
APPROVED FEBRUARY 25, 1998; ESTABLISHING THE
GRANTS FUND BUDGET OF ESTIMATED REVENUES
AND EXPENDITURES IN THE AMOUNT OF $309,914;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac approved on
February 25, 1998, Ordinance Number 0-98-7, implementing the State Housing
Initiatives Partnership Program to provide the community with a housing
assistance program; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of these funds requires the establishment of
the Affordable Housing Assistance Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager, Director of
Community Development to accept the $309,914 from the State Housing
Initiatives Partnership Program; and

SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this c2-2 day of "'k/ 21998.

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
accept the State of Florida Housing Finance Corporation, State Housing
Initiatives Partnership Program grant in the amount of $309,914 for assisting the
community in their housing needs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission accepts the grant in the amount of
$309,914 from the State Housing Initiative Partnership Program and shall
establish an Affordable Housing Assistance Trust Fund, where said monies are
to be deposited in accordance with the Public Notice advertised in the Sun -
Sentinel on Thursday, June 18, 1998 (attached hereto as Exhibit 1).
SECTION 3: The City Commission authorizes the appropriate City
Officials to amend the Affordable Housing Assistance Trust Fund budget in the
amount of $309,914 and appropriate said funds including any and all subsequent
budgetary transfers to be in accordance with proper accounting standards.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
