CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R98- ;2 �
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
SEPTEMBER 1, 1998 SPECIAL ELECTION FOR OR AGAINST
THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN AN
AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $3,250,000, BEARING INTEREST
AT NOT EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM LEGAL RATE, MATURING
WITHIN 20 YEARS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUANCE, PAYABLE
FROM AD VALOREM TAXES LEVIED ON ALL TAXABLE
PROPERTY IN THE CITY, WITHOUT LIMITATION AS TO RATE
OR AMOUNT, TO FINANCE A SENIOR AND COMMUNITY
CENTER AND RELATED COSTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a Special Election was held on September 1, 1998, wherein
the electorate of the City of Tamarac was asked to vote for or against the
issuance of general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding $3,250,000
bearing interest at not exceeding the maximum legal rate, maturing within 20
years from the date of issuance, payable from ad valorem taxes levied on all
taxable property in the City, without limitation as to rate or amount, to finance a
Senior and Community Center and related costs; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing board has canvassed the
results of the machine voting and the absentee ballots, and has certified such
results to the City Clerk of the City of Tamarac; and

WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from the County
Canvassing board and has presented her findings to the City Commission for a
formal Certification and Declaration of the results; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to declare
the results of the Special Election voting at the September 1, 1998 election for or
against the issuance of general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding
$3,250,000 bearing interest at not exceeding the maximum legal rate, maturing
within 20 years from the date of issuance, payable from ad valorem taxes levied
on all taxable property in the City, without limitation as to rate or amount, to
finance a Senior and Community Center and related costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The following is hereby certified and declared as the official
results of the public vote at the Special Election of September 1, 1998, for or
against the issuance of general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding
$3,250,000 bearing interest at not exceeding the maximum legal rate, maturing
within 20 years from the date of issuance, payable from ad valorem taxes levied

on all taxable property in the City, without limitation as to rate or amount, to
finance a Senior and Community Center and related costs:

SECTION 3: The issuance of general obligation bonds in an amount not
exceeding $3,250,000 bearing interest at not exceeding the maximum legal rate,
maturing within 20 years from the date of issuance, payable from ad valorem
taxes levied on all taxable property in the City, without limitation as to rate or
amount, to finance a Senior and Community Center and related costs is hereby
approved by the electorate of the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
