CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-98- 01'6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN BROWARD COUNTY AND THE CITY OF TAMARAC
PROVIDING FOR DISTRIBUTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM
THE BROWARD COUNTY ADDITIONAL ONE -CENT LOCAL
OPTION GAS TAX ON MOTOR FUEL ORDINANCE EFFECTIVE
JANUARY 1, 1999, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Broward County and the City of Tamarac have recognized
that Homelessness represents a regional issue deserving a jointly funded
solution; and
WHEREAS, the levying of the 4t" Cent Local Option Gas Tax will provide a
significant offset of general revenue that can be used for homeless services; and
WHEREAS, in order for this joint funding to have the greatest impact it is
necessary for Broward cities to return to the County their portion of the 4th Cent
Gas Tax proceeds; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it
to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to
enter into an agreement with Broward County providing for distribution of the
Temp. Resolution # 8369

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
