CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-98- � (� 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA GRANTING THE WHITE-WILLIS
THEATRE A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN
THOUSAND ($10,000.00) DOLLARS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the leadership of The White -Willis Theatre has communicated with City
Officials on numerous occasions indicating their desire to locate the Theatre in the City of
Tamarac and has indicated its status as a not -for -profit 501 (c) entity; and
WHEREAS, space was made available to the Theatre in the shopping center at the
corner of Pine Island Road and McNab Road; and
WHEREAS, considerable expense is required in order to get the space ready for the
Theatre opening; and
WHEREAS, the Theatre has indicated an immediate need for Ten Thousand
($10,000.00) Dollars so that a lighting system and sound system can be acquired and
construction materials secured; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Manager that The White -Willis Theatre will
provide an economic benefit to the shopping center and in the general area of the Theatre
and will be an asset to the City; and

WHEREAS, it is the further recommendation of the City Manager that the City
Commission grant the Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars donation under the auspices
of economic development activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens of the City of Tamarac to donate Ten Thousand
($10,000.00) Dollars to The White -Willis Theatre and hereby confirms the action of the City
Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac hereby grants The White -Willis Theatre a
donation in the amount of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
