R-98- -� IS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A TWO PERCENT (2%) ADJUSTMENT TO THE MINIMUM AND A FOUR PERCENT (4%) ADJUSTMENT TO THE MAXIMUM OF THE PAY RANGES IN THE BARGAINING UNIT PAY PLAN, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on November 27, 1996 the City Commission ratified a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Federation of Public Employees and the City granting a four percent (4%) salary increase to bargaining unit employees of record effective October 1, 1998, subject to the Agreement; and WHEREAS, the Agreement between the City of Tamarac and the Federation of Public Employees provides for an adjustment to the minimum and maximum of the pay ranges in the Pay Plan for bargaining unit employees ranging from two percent (2%) to four percent (4%) effective October 1, 1998; and WHEREAS, after reviewing competitive salary survey data from cities in the surrounding area, the Personnel Director and City Manager recommend that the minimum of the pay ranges be increased by two percent (2%) and the maximum of the pay ranges be increased by four percent (4%) in the Pay Plan for bargaining employees, effective October 1, 1998; and 1 ri Temp. Reso. #8393 09/12/98 WHEREAS, for positions in the bargaining unit that are currently in a skill -based progression broadband, in addition to the minimum, each step or milestone is also recommended to increase by two percent (2%) and the maximum pay is recommended to increase by four percent (4%), effective October 1, 1998; and WHEREAS, the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 1999 anticipated this adjustment in the Pay Plan for bargaining employees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the minimum of the pay ranges increase by two percent (2%) and the maximum of the pay ranges increase by four percent (4%), in the Pay Plan for bargaining employees; and that for positions in the bargaining unit that are currently in a skill -based progression broadband, in addition to the minimum, each step or milestone increase by two percent (2%) and the maximum of the pay range increase by four percent (4%), effective October 1, 1998 as shown on Exhibit A. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by an court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 2 W Temp.
