A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE
AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH ADVANCED
DATA PROCESSING, INC. (ADP) TO COMPLY WITH
STATE REGULATIONS REGARDING BILLING FEES FOR
MEDICAID INSURANCE FILING BY PAYING ADP A FLAT
RATE OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($150.00) PER
MONTH; AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY
OFFICIALS TO RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH ADP, AS
AMENDED, FOR FY99; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFEECTIVE QATE.
WHEREAS, ADP provides billing services for the City of Tamarac under a 1996
contract (attached hereto as Exhibit 1) and charges the City at the rate of 7% of the
moneys collected for all types of billing; and
WHEREAS, the State Medicaid program prohibits charges for billing based on a
percentage of the moneys collected; and
WHEREAS, the percentage of claims billed to Medicaid is approximately 2.1 % of
all claims billed for the City of Tamarac and the flat rate of one hundred fifty dollars a
month equates to the cost of services for Medicaid accounts billed for the City; and
WHEREAS, according to the original agreement between ADP and the City the
Contract is renewable for one more year (FY99) at the discretion of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to renew the agreement for Fiscal Year 1999; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Fire Chief and Purchasing Officer
that the ADP contract be amended and renewed; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac that the City
amend the ADP contract to reflect a flat rate for Medicaid billing services at the rate of
one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month and renew the agreement for fiscal year
1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to
execute the Amendment to Agreement Between the City of Tamarac and Advanced
Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) to comply with State regulations regarding billing fees for
Medicaid insurance filing by paying ADP a flat rate of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00)
per month (attached hereto as Exhibit 2).
SECTION 3: The appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to
renew the Contract Between the City of Tamarac, Florida, and Advanced Data
Processing, Inc. for fiscal year 1999.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid,
in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or

The CITY OF TAMARAC (City) and ADVANCED DATA PROCESSING, INC.
(Contractor) agree to amend the original Agreement dated December 4, 1996 as
follows:
The City and Contractor exercise the final option to renew the contract for a period
beginning October 1, 1998 through September 30, 1999.
Pursuant to Florida Statute 409.913(9), Section 4 Paragraph 3 of the original
agreement shall be amended as follows:
The Contractor shall provide one invoice to the City for moneys collected during the
previous month. The Contractor shall invoice the City for seven percent (7%) of the
moneys collected, excluding Medicaid accounts during the previous month. The
Contractor agrees to provide all billing services to Medicaid for the amount of one
hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) per month. The City shall issue a check for the
amount invoiced, minus any disputed amount, within thirty (30) days of receipt and
acceptance of the invoice.
All other portions of the original agreement are in effect as written.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
