RESOLUTION NO R-98- .30
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
EXECUTING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
BROWARD COUNTY AND THE CITY OF
TAMARAC ACCEPTING $244,217,
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS FROM THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT'S 24r" YEAR FUNDING FOR
THE PLANNING AND ENGINEERING OF THE
SENIOR AND COMMUNITY CENTER; CASE
NO. 20-MI-98; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac submitted an application to Broward County, the
Urban County administering the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development for the 24t" Year Funding, for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
funds; and
WHEREAS, the City's grant application was approved in the amount of $244,217
for the planning and engineering of a Senior and Community Center to be located on City
owned property in the 8700 block of Commercial Blvd.; and

WHEREAS, the attached agreement, "Exhibit A", is required to be executed by the
County Administrator, for Broward County, and the City Manager, on behalf of the City of
Tamarac, accepting the terms and conditions of the grant application incorporated into the
attached agreement, prior to the distribution of any funds; and
WHEREAS, the four (4) original copies of the executed agreement are required to
be delivered to Broward County's Community Development Division by October 15, 1998;
and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development recommends the execution
of the attached agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to execute the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is authorized to sign the Agreement between
Broward County and the City of Tamarac for the Community Center in the amount of
$244,217 providing for funding and administration of the Community Development Block
Grant (attached hereto as "Exhibit A").

f SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolution in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid,
in part or application of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adopted.
