CITY OF TAMARAC
INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
City Manager
Director of Utilities
Recommendation:
UTILITIES DEPARTMENT
DATE: October 22, 1998
RE: Government Services Group,
Inc. ("GSG", Special
Assessmen
A Resolution of the City Commission to authorize the appropriate City Officials to accept and
approve a proposal from Government Services Group, Inc. ("GSG'), to develop a Utilities System
Improvements Assessment Program for the northern half of Land Section 7 in the amount of
$27,600.
Issue:
To accept and approve a proposal from Government Services Group, Inc. ("GSG"), to develop a
Utilities System Improvements Assessment Program.
• Background:
The City is currently constructing water and sewer system improvements as part of the Hiatus
Road Project, in the northern half of Land Section 7. The utilities system improvements will
facilitate the development of the properties within this section and benefit the owners and
developers of those properties.
The costs of such utility improvements are generally the responsibility of the owners or developers
of the property impacted by the improvements. The establishment of a special assessment on the
properties in the northern half of Land Section 7 would provide a mechanism by which the City of
Tamarac could recoup the costs of the utility system improvements.
The Director of Utilities recommends that the City Commission accepts and approves a proposal
from Government Services Group, Inc. ("GSG"), to develop a Utilities System Improvements
Assessment Program.
