CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-98- 335�
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF
THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES AND THE CITY OF
COCONUT CREEK TO AID VICTIMS OF HURRICANE MITCH
IN HONDURAS AND NICARAGUA; PROVIDING FOR A
DONATION OF ONE THOUSAND ($1,000.00) DOLLARS AND
ENCOURAGING CITY EMPLOYEES TO DONATE CERTAIN
ITEMS TO BE TRANSPORTED TO THE AFFECTED
COUNTRIES; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE
BUDGETARY TRANSFERS OF FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward League of Cities is conducting a relief effort to aid victims
of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and Nicaragua; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is donating the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00)
Dollars and encouraging City employees to donate certain items for delivery to the affected
countries (needed items attached as Exhibit "A"); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to aid victims of
Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and Nicaragua.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and

confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City of Tamarac supports the efforts of the Broward League of
Cities and the City of Coconut Creek to aid victims of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras and
Nicaragua.
SECTION 3: A donation of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars to the American Red
Cross to aid victims of Hurricane Mitch is hereby approved.
SECTION 4: City employees are encouraged to donate certain items to be
transported to the affected countries.
SECTION 5: The appropriate budgetary transfers of funds are hereby approved.
SECTION 6: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 7: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 8: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
