RESOLUTION NO. R 98 - 3'�112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO PURCHASE A TORO
SAND PRO AND A TORO WORKMAN VEHICLE FROM
HECTOR TURF COMPANY, UTILIZING THE GENERAL
SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (GSA) CONTRACT # GS-07F-
8722D, AND A COMPETITIVE QUOTE FOR A RAHN
INFIELD CONDITIONER NOT AVAILABLE ON THE GSA
CONTRACT, AT A COMBINED COST NOT TO EXCEED
$22,169.92, APPROVING FUNDING FROM THE
APPROPRIATE PARKS AND RECREATION ACCOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS; Hector Turf Company, Deerfield Beach, Florida, is the authorized Toro
Distributor for Southeast Florida; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 6-155 allows the Purchasing/Contracts Manager the
authority to procure supplies, material and equipment, which are the subject of contracts
with the United States Government or with other governmental agencies, without following
purchasing procedures, as set forth in Section 6-155; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of an Infield Conditioner and Utility Vehicle was approved
in the FY99 budget and available funds exist in the General Fund budget for said purpose;
and

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director and Purchasing/Contracts Manager
recommend the purchase of the Toro Sand Pro and a Toro Workman Vehicle from Hector
Turf Company, utilizing the GSA Contract # GS-07F-8722D; and a Rahn Infield Conditioner
not on the GSA Contract, for a combined price not to exceed $22,169.92; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
purchase of a Toro Sand Pro and a Toro Workman Vehicle from Hector Turf Company,
utilizing the GSA Contract #GS-07F-8722D and quote for a Rahn Infield Conditioner not
under the GSA contract, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution upon
adoption hereof.
Section 2: The purchase of a Toro Sand Pro for $6,119.19 and a Toro Workman
Utility Vehicle for $14,050.73, as authorized under Section 6-149 of the Tamarac City Code
from Hector Turf Company utilizing GSA Contract #GSA-07-8722D, and a Rahn Infield
Conditioner for $2,000.00 based on a competitive quote from Hector Turf Company for
equipment not available on the GSA contract, for a combined cost of $22,169.92, is hereby
approved; and
Section 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby

repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
Section 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
