RESOLUTION NO, R-98- 5E?
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A
REQUEST FROM THE TAMARAC DAY COMMITTEE
TO WAIVE ALL CITY FEES FOR TAMARAC DAY `98;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Building Department has received a request from the Tamarac Day
Committee to waive all City fees for Tamarac Day `98 (attached as Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Day '98 is a not for profit event supported by sponsors and
vendors with no charge to the visiting public and the Tamarac Day Committee requests
that all required City fees be waived; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official recommends approval of the request to waive all
City fees for Tamarac Day `98; and
WHEREAS, the request from the Tamarac Day Committee to waive all City fees for
Tamarac Day `98 is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens
and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve this request for waiver of all City fees.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the request for waiver of all City fees, attached hereto as Exhibit
A, is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upo adoption.

Dear Mayor and City Commissioners:
Tamarac Day 198 is a joint effort of the District VII Community Council, the Broward Sheriff's
Office - District VII, the City of Tamarac, and the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce. The event is
scheduled for Saturday, April 4th, 1998 and is to be held at the Tamarac Sports Complex.
Tamarac Day `98 is a celebration of the City of Tamarac and is designed to bring together
residents, business, the City, and law enforcement for a day of fun and sharing of information. It is
a not for profit event supported by sponsors and vendors with no charge to the visiting public.
As part of the City's support for Tamarac Day `98, the Tamarac Day Committee respectfully
requests that all required City permit fees be waived. These include, but are not limited to:
• Building permit fees (tents)
• Inspection fees
• Electrical permit fees
• Outside vendor permit fees
• Banner permit fees for all sponsors
• Concession stand operating permit fees
• Event permit fees (nonprofit event)
• Any other City fees not yet identified
The dollar amounts for each of the above fees remains to be determined pending consultation with
the responsible City department(s).
We thank you in advance for your consideration of this request. Your support of this not for profit
event will be greatly appreciated.
