CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-98--0_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE
CITY OFFICIALS TO REJECT ALL BIDS UNDER BID 97-15B
FOR A PRIMING ASSISTED CENTRIFUGAL PUMP,
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the purcha,:e of one priming assisted centrifugal
pump to be used in stormwater construction projects for the removal of large amounts of
ground water; and
WHEREAS, bids were received from the following bidders:

Acme Dynamics
$23,394,24
Miami Pump & Supply
$23,604.00
Sisco Industrial
$24,425.00
Walker Miller
$24,700.00
Hydro Pumps, Inc.
$26,850.00
WHEREAS, after review of the specifications by Quentin L. Hampton Associates
Consulting Engineers, the Stormwater Engineer and Stormwater/Canals Supervisor, it was
determined that the specifications were not clearly defined to meet the needs of the City;
and

WHEREAS, City of Tamarac Code, §6-149(5), allows the Purchasing Officer the
authority, upon consultation with the affected department director(s), to recommend the
rejection of all bids when the public interest will be served; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Works and the
Purchasing/Contracts Manager that all bids for the purchase of the priming assisted
centrifugal pump be rejected; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to reject all bids for
the purchase of the priming assisted centrifugal pump.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon
adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to reject all bids
for the purchase of the priming assisted centrifugal pump.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
