RESOLUTION NO. R-96- �
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A WAIVER TO THE SIGN
CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY ART SIGN COMPANY TO
ERECT A DIRECTORY SIGN FOR TAMARAC MARKETPLACE
LOCATED AT THE THE NORTH ENTRANCE ON NOB HILL ROAD
A MINIMUM OF 10 FEET FROM THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY.
SIGN TO BE 11 FEET IN HEIGHT BY 11 FEET IN WIDTH WITH
TOTAL SIGN AREA OF 99 SQUARE FEET. SIGN WILL HAVE TWO
LETTER STYLES OF "SCRIPT' AND "HELVETICA BOLD", TENANT
DIRECTORY SPACES OF 7 SQUARE FEET WITH LETTER
HEIGHTS OF 8 INCHES, WITH A DIRECTORY AREA OF 66
SQUARE FEET; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY: AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Art Sign Company has requested a waiver from Code Chapter 18 governing signs
to erect a directory sign for Tamarac Marketplace located at the North entrance on Nob Hill Road,
said sign to be 11 feet in height by 11 feet in width with total sign area of 99 square feet. Sign will
have two letter styles of "script" and "helvetica bold", tenant directory spaces of 7 square feet with
letter heights of 8 inches and placed a minimum of 10 feet from the public right-of-way, with a
directory area of 66 square feet; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval to erect a
directory sign with 11 feet in height and 11 feet in width with total sign area of 99 square feet in two
letter styles with tenant directory spaces of 7 square feet and letter heights of 8 inches with a
directory area of 66 square feet located a minimum of 10 feet from the public right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority pursuant to
the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best
interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by Art Sign Company to
erect a directory copy sign for Tamarac Marketplace located at the North entrance on Nob Hill Road

with 11 feet in height and 11 feet in width with total sign area of 99 square feet in two letter styles
with tenant directory spaces of 7 square feet and letter heights of 8 inches with a directory area of 66
square feet located a minimum of 10 feet from the public right-of-way; is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: Conditions of approval:
None,
SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
SECTION_5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED,
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this Z,6 day of J06c, , 1996.
