CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R 96- 6�3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE
OF 15 VEHICLES BUDGETED FOR REPLACEMENT IN
FY96, UTILIZING THE 1996 STATE OF FLORIDA BID AND
BROWARD COUNTY BID C0594090F, APPROVING
FUNDING FROM ACCOUNT 503-888-591-65A ENTITLED
"VEHICLE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM" AT A COST OF
$266,526 PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the five-year vehicle replacement program recommended that 16
vehicles be replaced in Fiscal Year 1996; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials and equipment which are the subject of contracts with the State
and City Code §6-154 grants the Purchasing Officer the authority to join with other units
of government in cooperative purchasing; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Officer, the Utilities Director, and the Public Works
Director agree that vehicles listed in Exhibit A meet their requirements and recommend
that the City purchase 15 of the 16 vehicles at this time utilizing the appropriate bids; and
WHEREAS, the vehicles will be purchased under account 503-888-591-65A
entitled "Vehicle Replacement. Program" at a total cost of $266,526; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac, Florida to approve
the purchase of 15 replacement vehicles as stated in the attached Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: The Appropriate City Officials are HEREBY AUTHORIZED to
approve the purchase of 15 replacement vehicles at a total cost of $266,526 as listed
in Exhibit A.
Section 3: The City will utilize the 1996 State of Florida Bid for vehicles and the
Broward County Bid C059409OF for one sewer cleaner.

Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of
this Resolution.
Section 6, This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
