R-96- 2-. l A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; ALLOCATING $3,500 TO THE TAMARAC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR GENERAL EXPENSES AS DETERMINED BY THE CHAMBER BOARD, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce has approached the City on numerous occasions with a variety of proposals on how the City can assist the Chamber in its endeavors to promote the City and service existing businesses; and WHEREAS, the Tamarac Chamber of Commerce has indicated that it receives a substantial number of inquiries typical to chambers of commerce about business opportunities in the City; and WHEREAS, a strong Chamber is important to the City government; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed the various proposals submitted to the City and recommends that the City Commission allocate $3,500 to the Chamber for general expenses of the Chamber, including postage, as determined by the Chamber Board; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to allocate these funds to the Chamber. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: 1 1 1 2 Temp. Reso. #7591 Revision #1 - 10/17/96 SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: The recommendation of the City Manager to fund this from General Fund Contingency with all appropriate budgetary transfers are hereby approved. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
