A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING . THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO PURCHASE BADGER
WATER METERS FROM SUNSTATE METER AND SUPPLY,
INCORPORATED, UTILIZING CITY OF BOCA RATON BID
NUMBER 93-081 ENTITLED "COLD WATER METERS" FOR
A MAXIMUM COST OF $55,750 PURSUANT TO SECTION 6-
155 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA; APPROVED FUNDING FROM THE
APPROPRIATE UTILITIES OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Utilities Department is engaged in an aggressive water meter
replacement program throughout the water distribution system; and
WHEREAS, the American Water Works Associations has established water meter
exchange periods to ensure inaccurate meters are replaced; and
WHEREAS, the replacement and new meter installation recovers water revenues
required to maintain the City's water and wastewater operation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has appropriated funding to address Meter
replacement, new meter installation and meter relocations throughout the water distribution
system; and
WHEREAS, City Code Section 6-155 allows the Purchasing Officer the authority
to utilize contract prices from other South Florida Utilities; and

WHEREAS, the City of Boca Raton Bid Number 93-081 for purchase of Badger
Water Meters was approved from October 1, 1996 through September 30, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Utilities and the Purchasing Officer recommend that
the purchase of Badger Water Meters be awarded to Sunstate Meter and Supply, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Tamarac deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
purchase of Badger Water Meters from Sunstate Meter and Supply Incorporated
utilizing the City of Boca Raton Bid Number 93-081 for an amount not to exceed
$55,750.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
resolution.
E That the appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to
purchase water meters from Badger Water Meters utilizing the City of Boca Raton Bid
Number 93-081 to Sunstate Meter & Supply Incorporated pursuant to Section 6-155 of
the code of Ordinances of the City of Tamarac.
E That $55,750 is approved to be funded from the appropriate
budgeted Utilities Operational accounts.

-E&TION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or
applications of this Resolution.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
