CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-96-_QJ7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A WAIVER TO THE SIGN
CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY GEORGE L. GOBER & CO.
FOR AN ADDITION/ CHANGE OF COPY SIGNAGE TO BE ADDED
TO THE BOTTOM HALF OF AN EXISTING GROUND SIGN WITH
THIS SECOND TENANT NAME: GEORGE L. GOBER & CO. SAID
SIGN TO CONTAIN TWO LINES OF "HELVETICA" STYLE LETTER
(STYLE AS PER CRITERIA) AND THE TOP TWO LINES IN
"CLARENDON" STYLE LETTER FOR A TOTAL OF FOUR LINES OF
COPY PLUS A PHONE NUMBER, AND IS LOCATED ON 7801
COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD AT REMAX PLAZA, WHICH IS WEST
OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE ON COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD;
PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE:
WHEREAS, George L. Gober & Co. has requested a waiver from Code Chapter 18
governing signs for an addition/ change of copy signage to be added to the bottom half of
an existing ground sign at Remax Plaza located at 7801 Commercial Boulevard, which is
west of University Drive on Commercial Boulevard, said sign to contain four lines of copy
plus a phone number, in two letter styles; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval
for the ground sign and the four lines of copy in two letter styles; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority
pursuant to the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by George
L. Gober & Co. for an addition/ change of copy signage to be added to the bottom half of
an existing ground sign with this second tenant name: George L. Gober & Co., located at
7801 Commercial Boulevard at Remax Plaza, which is west of University Drive on
Commercial Boulevard, said sign to contain four lines of copy plus a phone number, in two
letter styles; is HEREBY APPROVED.
SEC I� ON 3: Conditions of approval:
SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
