RESOLUTION NO. R- 7J
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INCREASE TO
SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM RATES FROM THE CURRENT
$.33, $.34 AND $.35 PER HOUR TO $.50 PER HOUR FOR
CAMPS GATOR, HURRICANE AND SEMINOLE, ALL THREE
SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS, TO HELP OFFSET A
PORTION OF THE ACTUAL SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM
COSTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, has
received a request from the Parks and Recreation Department to increase the summer camp
program rates from $.33, $.34 and $.35 per hour, to $.50 per hour for Camp Gator, Camp
Hurricane and Camp Seminole; and
WHEREAS, the $.17, $.16 and $.15 per hour raises for all of the three
camps to $.50 per hour will help to offset a portion of the actual summer camp program costs,
and
WHEREAS, the increase of hourly care for Camp Seminole and Camp
Hurricane will total $65.00 and the increase for Camp Gator will total $54.00; and
WHEREAS, the user of the summer camp program should pay the increase
of the hourly rate in order to meet the rising costs of child care; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Operations Manager recommends
approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the best interest of the
citizens and residents to implement a uniform $.50 per hour rate for all summer camp programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA;

SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the following hourly summer camp rates are approved:
Camp Gator
Camp Hurricane
Camp Seminole
from $.33 to $.50
from $.34 to $.50
from $.35 to $.50
SECTION 3: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part of application, it
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
