R-96- �6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA RECOGNIZING AND COMMEMORATING MARCH 1996 AS "JEWISH WAR VETERANS 100TH ANNIVERSARY MONTH"; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EEFEQME DATE. _.. ,..,..,. WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is proud to number among its citizenry, veterans and join Broward County, the State of Florida and the nation in commemorating March 1996 as "Jewish War Veterans 100th Anniversary Month"; and WHEREAS, Jewish War Veterans 100th Anniversary Month and the recognition of its significance has its origin dating back to when Jewish War Veterans contributed to the preservation of our American Heritage through serving our nation; and WHEREAS, the heroic deeds of these veterans have advanced the cause of individual dignity for all mankind; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to proudly declare the month of March 1996 as "Jewish War Veterans 100th Anniversary Month". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the month of March 1996 shall be declared "Jewish War Veterans 2 Temp. Reso. #7358 Revised 3/6/96 100th Anniversary Month" within the City of Tamarac and the entire community is urged to join in the celebration of this historical observance. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk will distribute copies of the official resolution to the Broward County Commission, Broward league of Cities and the Tamarac Jewish War Veterans 100th Anniversary Month Committee. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
