CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R 96- 9
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE
OF SEVEN VEHICLES UTILIZING THE 1996 STATE OF
FLORIDA VEHICLE BID , APPROVING FUNDING FROM
ACCOUNT 001-193-519-640.425-367-535-640, 425-369-536-
640 and 425-364-533-640 ENTITLED 'VEHICLES" AT A
COST OF $121,260.00 PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Fleet Operational Assistance Review work team has
recommended that the City's current needs will be met by purchasing seven of the nine
vehicles budgeted for purchase in the Fiscal Year 1996 Budget; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials and equipment, which are the subject of contracts with the State;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Officer, the Utilities Director, and the Public Works
Director agree that vehicles listed in Exhibit A meet their requirements and recommend
that the City purchase the vehicles utilizing the 1996 State of Florida Vehicle Bid; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac, Florida to approve
the purchase of seven vehicles as stated in the attached Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: The Appropriate City Officials are HEREBY AUTHORIZED to
purchase seven vehicles at a total cost of $121,260.00 as listed in Exhibit A under the
terms and conditions of the 1996 State of Florida Vehicle Bid.
Section : Funding for this purchase is approved from the following accounts:
001-193-519-640, 425-367-535-640, 425-369-536-640 and 425-364-533-640.
Section 4: Should any of the approved vehicles become unavailable due to
manufacture's production problems the Appropriate City Officials are HEREBY
AUTHORIZED to substitute vehicles of like quality and model at equal cost or less
from any vendor awarded a contract under the 1996 State of Florida Contract.

Section All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
Section 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.

1.Cargo Van -Model Chevy Astro to be purchased from Maroone Chevrolet under State
of Florida Contract #070-300-205. Two Vans to be purchased one for Public Works,
account 001-193-519-640 and one for Utilites account 425-367-535-640.
Cost per vehicle $15,226.00 Total Cost $30,452.00
2. 3/4 Ton Pick -Up 4x4 Heavy Duty -Model Ford F250 to be purchased from Duval Ford
under State of Florida Contract #070-544-425. Two trucks to be purchased for Utilites
under account 425-369-536-640.
Cost per vehicle $20,013.00 Total Cost $40,026.00
3. 3/4 Ton Pick -Up 2x4 with Utlity Body -Model Ford F250 to be purchased from Don
Reid under State of Florida Contract #070-500-420. Two trucks to be purchased for
Utilites under account 425-364-533-640.
Cost per vehicle $17,684.00 Total cost $35,368.00
4. 3/4 Ton Pick-up 2x4-Model F250 to be purchased from Don Reid under State of
Florida Contract #070-500-420. One truck to be purchased for Utlities under account
425-367-535-640.
Cost per vehicle $15,414.00 Total Cost $15,414,00
Cost for all seven vehicles $121,260.00
