CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-96- So
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION OF MARCH
12, 1996; DECLARING JOHN E. MCKAYE AS THE
COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE FOR DISTRICT 1
AND DECLARING JOSEPH SCHREIBER, RUNNING
UNOPPOSED, AS THE COMMISSION
REPRESENTATIVE FOR DISTRICT 3; PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 12, 1996, wherein the
Electorate of the City of Tamarac was to choose one candidate for the Office of
Commission Representative from District 1; and
WHEREAS, the candidate for the Office of Commission Representative from
District 3 ran unopposed; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing Board has canvassed the results of
the machine voting and the absentee ballots, and has certified such results to the City
Clerk of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from the County
Canvassing Board and has presented her findings to the City Commission for a formal
Certification and Declaration of the results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: The following are the Certified results of the votes received by
candidates seeking the Office of Commission Representative for District 1 at the
General Election held March 12, 1996:
John E. McKaye zu
James I. Moore 62
John E. McKaye, having received the highest number of votes cast is, therefore,
declared to have been elected as Commission Representative for District 1 of the City
of Tamarac for a term of three (3) years.
SECTION 2: Joseph Schreiber, having run unopposed for the office of
Commission Representative for District 3, has been duly elected to that position for a
term of three (3) years.
SECTION All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4i If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
