R-96- 9 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE RESCUE VEHICLES FROM AERO PRODUCTS CORPORATION BASED ON THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE BID, SC-0654-95, AT A TOTAL COST OF $329,152.00; THROUGH A LEASE PURCHASE PLAN, WITH FUNDING FROM ACCOUNTS 001-223-582-716 ENTITLED "NOTES PAYABLE" AND 001-223-582-726 ENTITLED "INTEREST PAYABLE"; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Whereas, the City has indicated a desire to provide emergency medical transport services; and and Whereas, this service will be provided through the Tamarac Fire Department; Whereas, the Fire Department needs three vehicles to provide this service; and Whereas, the Aero Products Corporation has offered to extend the terms and conditions of the bid awarded by the City of Jacksonville to the City of Tamarac; and Whereas, the total cost of the three vehicles is $329,152.00; and Whereas, the City will obtain financing through a lease purchase plan; and Temp. Reso #7369 Page 2 4/3/96 Revised 4/12/96 Whereas, the FY 96 Midyear Budget Amendment appropriated sufficient funding in line items 001-223-582-716 (Notes Payable) and 001-223-582-726 (Interest Payable) to meet the lease purchase payments; and Whereas, it is the recommendation of the Fire Chief and the Purchasing Officer that this purchase be awarded to Aero Products Corporation; and Whereas, City Code §6-154 allows the Purchasing Officer to join with other units of Government in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City will be served; and Whereas, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Tamarac to authorize the purchase of three rescue vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1s The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution. SECTION 2: That Aero Products Corporation is awarded the bid for the purchase of three rescue vehicles based on the City of Jacksonville Bid #SC-0654-95 not to exceed $329,152. SECTION 3: That the appropriate City Officials will obtain a lease purchase agreement and the budget is amended to accept the capital lease as appropriate. SEQIIQN 4_ That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6. If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not effect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 1 Temp.
