RESOLUTION NO. R-96- 9A
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
TAMARAC AND THE LAW FIRM OF AKERMAN,
SENTERFITT & EIDSON, P.A., AS THE CITY'S BOND
COUNSEL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that Bond Counsel is
necessary and appropriate for the issuance of new and refunding bonded debt; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration solicited proposals from qualified firms
through an Expression of Interest instrument on September 14, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A., responded to the
City's Expression of Interest request for Bond Counsel Services; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A., has counseled
the City on various legal issues in the past and is familiar with the City's Charter and
Cade; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A., has served in the
capacity of Bond Counsel for the City's conduit debt in the Industrial Development
Revenue Bonds, Series 1995 (ITW Mima and Padlocker, and Arch Aluminum and
Glass Company); and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney and Director of Finance, after due consideration,
recommend the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A. as Bond Counsel and
recommends entering into negotiation of contractual terms; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of Akerman, Senterfitt &
Eidson, P.A., as Bond Counsel for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve
Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A. as the City's Bond Counsel.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section : The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to negotiate and enter
into an agreement between the City of Tamarac and the law firm of Akerman, Senterfitt
& Eidson, P.A. for Bond Counsel services.
Section : All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by
any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this
Resolution.
i n : This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
