CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-96- aIq
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING A WAIVER TO THE SIGN
CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY DAVID GOLDSTEIN OF
DAVID'S CATERING TO ERECT A GROUND SIGN AT THE EAST
ENTRY OF DAVID'S PLAZA LOCATED AT 6501 W COMMERCIAL
BOULEVARD, WITH THREE LINES OF COPY, GREEN MARBLE
BACKGROUND COLOR WITH GOLD LETTERING, AND TWO
STYLES OF LETTERING: "HELVETICA BOLD" AND "BRUSH
SCRIPT"; PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE -DATE:
WHEREAS, David Goldstein has requested a waiver from Code Chapter 18 governing signs to
erect a ground sign at the East entry of David's Plaza located at 6501 W Commercial Boulevard, said
sign to contain three lines of copy, green marble background color with gold lettering, and two letter
styles; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval for the
ground sign with three lines of copy, green marble background color with gold lettering, and two letter
styles; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority pursuant to
the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best
interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by David Goldstein to
erect a ground sign at the East entry of David's Plaza located at 6501 W Commercial Boulevard, said
sign to contain three lines of copy, green marble background color with gold lettering, and two letter
styles; is HEREBY APPROVED.

SECTION 3: Conditions of approval:

SECTION 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any
court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED,

REQUIREMENTS
1. All applicants must provide fifteen copies of blueprints or inked drawings, fifteen copies of this petition
and all other information submitted with a sign application for the new sign.
2. A non-refundable waiver fee of $125.00.
A,notarized signature of the applicant and of the owner/agent of the shopping center.
A notarized statement by the owner, if authorizing an agent to appear on his behalf before the City
Commission of Tamarac at this Quasi -Judicial procedure.
This petition must be submitted through the Building Department to the City Clerk. The City Clerk will
then place the petition on the next regularly scheduled agenda for the city Commission. This petition will
be accompanied by a written recommendation of the Building Official.
In the event the waiver and exception is granted by the City Commission, a resolution will be issued
stating the terms and conditions upon which the waiver has been granted. Any waiver granted shall
become null and void if the sign has not been erected within three (3) months after the date of the City
