RESOLUTION NO. R-95-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AWARDING THE PURCHASE OF
MORNING PRIDE BUNKER GEAR TO SAFETY EQUIPMENT
COMPANY UTILIZING THE CITY OF DEERFIELD BEACH
BID,1993-94/14, AT A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED
$20,500.00; FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,500.00 IS
BUDGETED IN THE FIRE DEPARTMEN--Tl"PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
Whereas, bunker gear provides necessary thermal protection for structural
firefighting; and
Whereas, Morning Pride Tailed Style bunker gear meets the requirements of
NFPA #1971, Protective Clothing for Structural Firefighting; and
Whereas, Morning Pride Tailed Style bunker gear reduces the heat stress
firefighters are exposed to; and
Whereas, Safety Equipment Company is the only authorized distributor in
Florida; and
Whereas, the Safety Equipment Company has offered to extend the terms and
conditions of the bid awarded by The City of Deerfield Beach to the City of Tamarac;
and

Whereas, the City of Tamarac has budgeted twenty thousand five hundred
dollars ($20,500) for the purchase of bunker gear in the Fire Department budget; and
Whereas, it is the recommendation of the Fire Chief and the Purchasing Officer
that this purchase be awarded to Safety Equipment Company of America; and
Whereas, City Code §6-154 allows the Purchasing Officer to join with other units
of Government in cooperative purchasing when the best interest of the City will be
served; and
Whereas, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the City of Tamarac to authorize the purchase of firefighting bunker
gear from Safety Equipment Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
resolution.
SECTION 2: That Safety Equipment Company is awarded the bid for the
purchase of Morning Pride Bunker Gear based on the Contract with the City of
Deerfield Beach.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section , other part or application of this Resolution is

held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not effect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
