CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-95-_Z30
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; APPROVING A WAIVER
TO THE SIGN CODE ORDINANCE REQUESTED BY
GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY FOR A WALL
SIGN LOCATED ON 6852 N. UNIVERSITY DRIVE (WEST
ELEVATION) AT THE UNIVERSITY COMMONS
SHOPPING CENTER, NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF
UNIVERSITY DRIVE AND McNAB ROAD, PROVIDING
FOR CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIMQ FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE:
WHEREAS, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, has requested a waiver from Code
Chapter 18 governing signs to erect a wall sign on 6852 N. University Drive (West Elevation)
at the University Commons Shopping Center, near the intersection of University Drive and
McNab Road, with a non -approved color logo and a logo height of 36" with yellow colored sign
letters.
WHEREAS, the Building Official, reviewed said waiver and recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida has the authority
pursuant to the Code Section 18-42 to grant waivers; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the
best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to grant this waiver.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing WHEREAS clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of the Resolution.
SECTION 2: That the waiver to the Sign Code Chapter 18 requested by
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to erect a wall sign on 6852 N. University Drive (West
Elevation) at the University Commons Shopping Center, near the intersection of University
Drive and McNab Road, with a non -approved color logo and a logo height of 36" with yellow
colored sign letters is HEREBY APPROVED.
SECTION 3: Conditions of approval:
1) That sign company provide proof of registration logo.

$FCIlON 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediat ly upon adoption.
