RESOLUTION NO. R 95- _,Z40_ -
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
FILE SERVERS AND ASSORTED NETWORKING
HARDWARE COMPONENTS FROM AVNET COMPUTER
UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT NUMBER 250-
050-94-1 FOR A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $83,791.61
BUDGETED UNDER THE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION
SERVICES DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, The City Commission approved the expenditure of $197,120.00 during
the Mid -Year Budget process to fund the installation of a City-wide network; and
WHEREAS, the File Servers and part of the networking hardware necessary for the
installation of this network may be purchased from Avnet Computer under the terms and
conditions of the State of Florida Contract #250-050-94-1; and
WHEREAS, City Code §6-155 allows the waiver of formal contract procedures for
all supplies, materials and equipment which are the subject of contracts with the State; and
WHEREAS, the order will be placed with Avnet Computer on or before June 29,
1995. Avnet Computer is offering a one time discount of $18,392.41, with a final cost of
$83,791.61 as an incentive to place the order by the end of their fiscal year which ends
June 30th; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the MIS Director and the Purchasing Officer
that the City purchase the File Servers and networking components from Avnet Computer
utilizing the one time incentive discount; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the
purchase of File Servers and networking hardware component from Avnet Computer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
ction 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this resolution.
Section 2: The purchase of File Servers and assorted networking hardware
components in the amount of $83,791.61 IS HEREBY APPROVED to be purchased from
Avnet Computer utilizing State of Florida Contract Number 250-050-94-1.

Section_3, Funding for this purchase was approved in the Mid -Year Budget under
Account 501-888-593-62C entitled "City -Wide Data Network."
Section 4: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ection 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application,
it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
